Southwest Craft Center

San Antonio, Texas

This mixed-use project expressed the school’s existing historic architecture without mimicking it. Additions included classrooms, an auditorium, a gallery, a restaurant, and faculty housing with art studios. The brutal Texas sun was no match for our excellent daylighting design. This passive solar remodel framed urban space, while resolving the public/private space relationships. 1988.
