Design of a large addition to an art school on the historic riverwalk. The addition includes classrooms, an auditorium, a gallery, restaurant, and faculty housing & art studios. Thomas expressed the school's mission of transferring knowledge while respecting the existing school's historic architecture (without mimicking it), framing urban space, resolving the public/private
space relationships, and dealing with the brutal Texas sun. 1988.
